Long story, but recently or family cat became ill and died. While ill, it soiled my mattress. After trying some specialty chemical cleaners for pet stains, I decided I would make a last ditch effort to wash the mattress with clean water in my garage before resorting to trashing it....it was an expensive mattress.

After I rinsed out the mattress, I removed all the exess water with a shop vac, but the weather got really humid and it took a few days for the remaining water to dry out. In the meantime, the mattress took on a mildew/musty smell.

Is the mattress a lost cause? or is there a way to eliminate the mildew smell? It is very slight, but obviously any odor in a mattress is undesireable. For what it's worth, the cat stain and odor is no longer present.

The mattress has been airing out in the garage with a fan for the last 6 days, and each day the odor is less...but is there a way to eliminate it?

I put in 4 full scoops of Gain powder laundry detergent & handwashed them, scrubbing them together as long & as hard as I could with scalding hot water. I put on 2 pairs of gloves to protect my skin from the heat. I Rinsed them with cold water & wrang them out really well & then put them on hangers to air dry.

***I had to do this because I don't have the money to go to the laundromat. With me having Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, I keep thinking, "I wonder if I missed a spot". & one lady told me that my clothes aren't clean because they have to be put in a machine & go through cycles.

***There were times in my life where I've washed clothes in the machine & odors didn't come out of my clothes, & also when I've handwashed them & they smelled fresh.

I'm 15, and I want some good beat music to clean to... right now I've got two "cleaning songs"- No Sleep Tonight[the faders] and One Week[Barenaked Ladies]... any songs similar? or just anything upbeat[no rap, I'd prefer clean-ish lyrics]

It's a small bathroom that gets used often... by boys, but it also gets cleaned often with Lysol wipes or bleach water. There are no windows but there is a fan/vent. During the humid season I could wipe the seat down daily and there is still mold. Yuck! Is there a cleaner or spray that will help this problem?

I have several dog urine stains on grout. The grout was laid in May and promptly sealed but the sealing did not prevent the urine from staining it. Any suggestions will be welcome.

The bottom section, where you put water, is all crusty with white mineral deposits, even though I use filtered water, not tap water. How can I scrape or dissolve those off? I can't really reach in there with steel wool, and dish brushes don't provide enough friction to be effective.

Does anyone have experience with this? Please don't advise anything that you (or someone you know) haven't tried and found effective.

It's latex house paint, and has been in there for about a year or so. Not a large spot, but still annoying. It's not shag type, but the flat, thin carpet you have in an office.
I've tried Goo Gone and Goof Off, and scraping it with a stiff brush hasn't worked either. Any little trade secrets?

Ok well heres the thing. I'm an 11 year old girl and my room is a total mess! It looks like a hurricane hit it! My parents have been telling me to clean my room for years now but I just can't get it clean. My parents have had it with me & my room. My room is being painted right now because its getting re-done so I have all of my stuff on my bed and on the floor. I have to clean out my whole room fast! For some reason when I start cleaning it always ends up being even messier. Also I get very over whelmed because I don't know where to start! There is so much to clean! Can someone please help me? Thanks so much!

Okay so I got some car grease on my favorite pair of khaki capri's, my cousin told me to use WD40 to get it out. She said put it on and leave it for 15 mins. Did that and there were more grease stains on them along with the original stain. So then she said do it again then use dishsoap on it after you let the WD40 sit and the dishsoap will cut the grease. Did that, now there are like three stains layered one on top of the other. I NEED THESE FIXED, I'M FAT I DON'T HAVE ANYTHING ELSE TO WEAR!

My clothes recently turned pink when I put it in the washer and was wondering how I could fix it? I heard you could bleach it or something to turn it back white and was wondering if this will work? What type of bleach should I get and if bleach dont work what will? Thanks.

My mom and dad own my Great Grandfathers house. It is in bad repair, and will be sold if possible. I am staying at my Gradmothers house for the week, and wanted to clean out the top floor (only two bedrooms), so I can go up there and get away from the world for a while.

The thing is, before my mom and dad got the house, my Grandmother rented it to a family. They had alot of pets, and never cleaned up the place after the pets. So, it kinda smells. It has been cleaned out and stuff, but if is very, how to say it, I guess, the air is thick, and still has that faint smell of animal. Is there a way to clean up the top floor so I don't have to smell it, or smell like it? There isn't any furniture, it was all taken out.

Hope worded it okay.
