Yes it is. Mix 1/2 alcohol and 1/2 water. I prefer a 1/2 white distilled vinegar 1/2 water mixture.

Use newspaper to wipe it, rather than paper towels.

Yes! Alcohol is the key ingredient in every glass cleaner I know for homemade and storebought.

Here's a homemade glass cleaner:

Ingredients:

* 1 part vinegar
* 1 part alcohol
* 1 part water

Directions:

Combine in a spray bottle. This can be used on windows, mirrors, appliances, faucets, etc. I find that it works better (read: less streaking) than store bought.

Here's another:

Mix equal parts in an empty squirt bottle.

Rubbing alcohol
Ammonia
Water

Yes. At work they have a eye glass cleaning station. I am not sure what liquid is in the bottle but all it did was smear my glasses. I went over to the flammable storage locker and got out the spray bottle of 100% alcohol and a lint free wipe from the box.

One quick spray and Sparkley clean glasses. I bet it would cut most of the dirt from windows. Stay away from LCD screens and electronics - spray the wipe and not the glass on electronics.

The alcohol's we have at work is 70% (worthless - I am getting rid of it - leaves residue), 92% (better but not quite perfect) and 100% (best). For home use, the 70% stuff may work good enough for windows.

I use it all the time, especially at work. I use it to clean my glasses, computer screen, telephone, mouse, etc. It not only cleans it but it kills germs too and drys quickly with no streaks. Good luck. 2D

No. Try Windex with vinegar in it. (You buy the Clear Windex.) It works great. The vinegar in it cuts grease or grime and keeps it from streaking. Hope this helps.

Windex is even better. And it's formulated for cleaning glass.
