party was last night and beer bottles and beer in general have been sitting on the table all night. i tried to clean it with water and a paper towel but it left a sticky residue in the shape of the bottles. what do i do?!

uh-oh...! My ping-pong table is just particle board which will wick up any moisture and swell up... The thin green paint is not waterproof.
You may try something like orange glow to wipe it down evenly, not just on the ring marks but evenly all-over. Not water! Eventually the moisture will draw out but don't know if it will get smooth again.

Aren't ping pong tables just bare? If they are, just use warm sudsy water from the sink (what you use to clean dishes) and wipe it off with a cloth (that's a lot easier than trying to use paper towel. If it's made of carpet, use carpet cleaner

When in doubt... I try windex. Just don't get it too wet.
