I have a pretty expensive wool coat that I've worn all winter, but now I'd like to put it away for the spring/summer. It's full of lint and cat hair. Usually I lint roll it which works ok, but is there a better way to clean it? I'd rather not take it to the dry cleaners.

I made my corned beef and cabbage in my white slow cooker and now it has gray stains on it and I can't get it clean. How can I get these stains out and what could have caused it? Some kind of reaction from the cabbage? HELP!

I've got an old US Army Men's Cold-Weather Field Coat that needs washing in the worst possible way. Any advice, or can I just toss it in the washer on cold and dryer on medium?

I am American. I love the show "How Clean Is Your House?" with Kim and Aggie. They are hilarious and quite sensible. They have a lot of good ideas but when they mix their potions I don't know what they are talking about. I don't recognize the products because British brands are different.

Bicarb of soda I think is baking soda.
Washing up liquid is dishwashing liquid for dishes by hand.

What is washing soda?
What is biological washing soda?
What is ammonia bleach?
Any others that fluent Brit-Americans would know can cause confusion in the cleaning closet?

Is it best to pull the shower curtain completely closed, leaving about six inches between the shower curtain rod and the ceiling for air flow. Or is it better to leave the sides of the shower curtain open a foot or two to better allow for the water vapor to dissipate. The thinking behind closing the shower curtain all the way, is so the water will run down the curtain and down the drain.

When the repair man came he found nothing wrong with it even though it got hot enough and smoked we had to shut off breaker to it. We ran it again and only 1 time did it smell hot. The washer is only about 2 years old. We have taken it apart and can find nothing at all. Has this happened to anyone else?

I have been looking for leather scented candles and can not find them anywhere. Anyone know where I can get some or if any candle shops sell them. Found one place online but rather pick it out in person to make sure the smell is right. I am in Connecticut if anyone knows of anyplace in Connecitcut let me know or anywhere online where you can get an order form to order them.

I remember reading about a product you would put in the dryer with your aprons to alleviate this. We do not have the luxury of tying the strings prior to drying

Is there a safe way to clean what I think is a latchhook rug, it has little threads of yarn sticking out of the border and flatter design in the middle. The middle part is very dirty it's like an off-white or tan coloring with palm trees on it...I want to wash it but I don't want to wreck it. Any suggestions?
