I am American. I love the show "How Clean Is Your House?" with Kim and Aggie. They are hilarious and quite sensible. They have a lot of good ideas but when they mix their potions I don't know what they are talking about. I don't recognize the products because British brands are different.

Bicarb of soda I think is baking soda.
Washing up liquid is dishwashing liquid for dishes by hand.

What is washing soda?
What is biological washing soda?
What is ammonia bleach?
Any others that fluent Brit-Americans would know can cause confusion in the cleaning closet?

I used to be British (LOL), but now live in the US and love it. I'm sure you have heard the old saying that the UK & the US are two countries "seperated by a common language"!

Washing soda is sodium carbonate, which you may be able to buy (I think Arm & Hammer make it) at an "old people's" grocery store in the US.

"Biological" washing soda (or powder) is any one of a number of laundry soaps that contain enzymes.

"Ammonia bleach" is basically just ammonium hydroxide or "household bleach" (DO NOT MIX what America calls 'ammonia' with what America calls 'bleach', since this makes an altogether different and VERY hazardous chlorine gas mixture!)

Full disclosure: My house is NOT very clean...
