I bought this nice somewhat shag wool rug and this thing will not stop shedding. It's been 2 weeks and my swifter sweeper is getting a serious workout.

Hi, I have just bought roses and I needed the flowers (I have 14 Stems all together). I got a pack of nutrients with the roses, My question is if I put the flowerless stem in the water, Will the rose bud, there are still leaves on the stem. If not what should I have done so I could get the roses and still have the roses growing. I put the stems under light and in water with the nutrients.

The grill is about two years old and has been working well until just recently. Gas is clearly coming out the vent in the regulator, which obviously prevents me from lighting the grill. Can I just replace the vent or is there an easy-but-not-obvious-to-me solution?

I want to build a simple outdoor picnic table and use pine (mostly 2x4) for construction because it is inexpensive. I plan to set it on my backyard lawn, so it will be exposed to moisture and sunlight. Question is, if I stain & protect it, will it last just as long as other higher quality woods like redwood and cedar? Thanks.

I have 7 Italian Cypress trees, all planted at the same time. The taller ones have one main trunk but the shorter have several main trunks(if I can can them that) and each trunk seems to be wanting the top position. My question is, Can I prune the lower or weaker looking trunks so that most of the growth is concentrated on just one trunk? The trees are approx. 10' to 12' tall. planted 4 years ago at 3 feet in height.

I have a mattress and on top of the mattress I have a featherbed and one of those foam things. I have a mattress cover that goes over all that and then I have my fitted sheet and blanket etc. My featherbed and foam thing keeps sliding off to one side. How do I keep it from doing that? I've used safety pins, the sheet garter things, and buying new sheets, I don't know what else to do. Anyone ever had this problem or know of any solutions? Thanks!

We live in SW Ohio.
We have some plumbing issues but money is tight and I have no clue what a plumber would charge me. My kitchen sink pipe leaks (pvc), my dishwasher is no longer draining, and my washing machine also won't drain. For the dishwasher, the water just sits in the bottom of the machine, for my washing machine, it just goes back and leaks all over the floor.
My toilet, shower and bathroom sink are fine so I don't think it's a septic problem and the septic was drained 16 months ago.

Our Sears Kenmore (White Westinghouse) just broke down after 15 years (!), so we need a new one. I know I can check on line, but this is faster. I also need to know approximately how much they cost for my budgeting purposes. Thanks for the GOOD answers in advance.

We have almost no insulation at the moment. I'd prefer to fit some that I don't need to wear protective clothing and which won't be a health hazard in the future. Hemp looks good at the moment - has anyone out there any experience of alternative insulation? This is for laying on the floor of our loft.
