A GOOD iron is a must, preferably with Teflon coating on the foot pad; also a wide, Teflon-coated ironing board with an extra thick base-pad, and a removable WASHABLE cover. Have a thick WHITE bath towel handy as well. Buy yourself a good bottle that offers a fine mist, and buy a gallon of DISTILLED water (both for the spray bottle and the steam setting on your iron). Finally, canned spray-starch is your FRIEND.

usually the wife(remember to undo the handcuffs so she can get out of the kitchen), failing that the next door neigbour (she may need a little servicing in return though, oh well the rough with the smooth) and last of all the mother in law(if you're looks like mine no servicing required). if none of those work, throw the clothes away and buy new nicely pressed ones.

there is a domestic version of an industrial iron. Its a small version of a press iron , you might see in a laundry or dry cleaners , speeds things up considerably , but at a small cost on both purchase and space.
