firstly hit the person over the head hard, then add cement and water to the sand lol.

Drop as much as you can in as fast a time as possible so as not to let the person get a on top of the falling sand

I would say to fill the hole half way with water. it would make the sand not be able to stand well, jump, and he/she would be left treding "water". The sand however would make it harder to swim so you would end up using alot more energy. It would only be a matter of time.
In short. Make sure what you are using is quicksand.
