My basement is very cold because of gaps in the cement wall surrounding the door. The cold air seeps through the gaps in the cement and I'd like to seal it off. Any ideas?

These tree people charge a fortune to cut down a tree and I am on a fixed income, can't pay their price. Most of them are cedar trees and a few are pine or some other kind.I heard there's a way to kill them but don't know how to do that.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance

We live in an apartment where we can hear everything above us (footsteps, talking, cell phones vibrating, etc.). Our landlords claim to have installed a carpet with padding in the room above us, but there is no difference in sound transmission. Does anyone know specifically what type of padding should be used to reduce these noises? It is currently impossible to sleep or relax in our apartment and we have another five months before our lease is up. I would like specifics to take to the rental company so we can get something that will actually work.

Could you tell me the names of the plants in these photos: http://home-and-garden.webshots.com/album/561329194QETfvb

The degree of sunlight and water seems to vary for them. So I am very confused. Some of them are thriving and some(especially one) of them are(is) dying. Will the light I put above them(100W) make up for the sunlight they wud have gotten outdoors? As you can see they are place beside a north side window. What can I do to make them thrive. Please suggest. And to tag the plants you could log in as alias1234 and pass:alias. Please dont change the password or delete the pictures. and pls do leave your nickname after u're done tagging so I can choose yours as the best answer

So my white sweatshirt got black sharpie marker stain on it as someone who used the dryer before me forgot to check their pockets and the sharpie leaked, and got onto my sweatshirt.
Do you know any way to get it out?
I tried "shout gel" and that had some effects but it is still visible. its about a 1"x1" mark and Im going to try bleach soon, but do you have any other ideas?

thanks.

I bought a 2 piece suits and took the pants for altering and the cleaner lost my pants. They told me to buy a whole new suits and will only reimburse me the whole suits if I give them the jacket (from the suits that they lost my pants) so they could file an insurance claims. I was wondering if this is right.
Any insurance people out there that can help me? Do I really need to give them my jacket in order for the dry cleaner people to file claim with their insurance?
I asked for their insurance company's name and phone number but they refuse to provide it to me.

Does shelf paper serve any practical purpose or is it just a cosmetic thing?

I spent my weekend ripping it out of the kitchen cabinets in my recently purchased house, and I can’t figure out why someone would waste the time to install it when it doesn’t do anything but look stupid. If there is a purpose, someone enlighten me please. Otherwise, I’m going to hunt down the inventor and hurt him/her!!

I know this is a basic one, but so am I on this topic. Rather than asking someone to do it, I'd rather learn and do it myself (from now on). I am framing pictures I have taken during the years and 4 (framed) posters, approx. 120cm x 75cm. Cheers!
