I want a heating source for my otherwise unheated upstairs.
I have an oil air furnace for the downstairs. Do not want ducts running thru the inside walls to the upstairs....have propane for hot water....any thoughts on Renai or Monitor heaters...propane vs. ? other sources... I have a chimney that runs upstairs also, but has the furnace and woodstove running off it downstairs. The most economical source is wanted.
Also, it will be only heating at 60 degrees. The lowest it gets in the stark winter is 38, pretty chilly sleeping !

My roommates wont put the heat on until its really cold... I said its supposed to snow tomorrow they said "when we see snow it'll go on" so my response was "it takes more energy and the furnace works harder if you dont have the heat on already... more energy and the harder the furnace works, the more money we pay"... is this true? any links to prove them wrong would be awesome! thanks

I am looking to install crown molding into my room, but not sure how to. I have a basic square room with no tricky corners. Could someone please give me some tips, explain the process, tools that will be needed, etc.? Any help would be very appreciative, thank you.

Well after I complained to the contractor that the partition wall he had put up was 1 inch out of plumb over 7 foot he came out and fixed it. Well vertically anyway. In fact we he did was at halfway up the wall he re-adjusted it so it was plumb so now the wall is at a slight zigzag, not only that it is now no longer at 90 degrees with the adjoining wall and is .5 of an inch out over less than 1 foot. I complained to the owner of the company who is supposedly coming out first thing tomorrow to look at it and fix it but if I find another problem I am axing them. apparently hisguys told him that it was just the door frame that was out. Shame they left evidence behind showing the contrary

3 issues so far

Hinging the bedroom door at the wrong side so that you have to open the door full, step into the room, close the door to be able to turn the light on

Partition wall out of plumb vertically by 1 inch.

Partition wall now not at 90 degrees with adjoining wall.

I dont know if its got a name but stuff like using vinegar and water to clean windows and baking soda to clean kettles. I find it really annoying that people would do this sort of thing lol! Whats wrong with a quick spray of Mr Muscle and a cloth, rather than dogs urine applied with a toothbrush?

I would like to install a hanging light on my ceiling but the cord that the light comes with is a plug made for an outlet. Obviously the ceiling does not have an outlet (it's just the wires where lighting fixtures are connected). How am I supposed to install this?

Will I need a different cord (one that will connect directly to the electrical wiring of the light fixtures) or is it possible to install an outlet there (but if this is possible, won't it look bad since the hole is circular while the outlets would be in a rectangular shape)?

Thanks!

*I know my terminology and explanation is probably VERY BAD, I'm not good with this kind of stuff, sorry.

If you look at your average stapling maching, the silver part which go under the paper you're stapling has two impressions in it. Most people use the impression that make both ends of the staples curl inward... Well if you spin around the metallic bit you can use the other part which makes both ends bend outwards... but my question is.

what is the use of the other pattern? there must be some reason why all standard staplers have both styles?

My contractor fell through the attic and created a 4x4 hole in the ceiling. He replaced the drywall and did the tapping and joint compond at least three times however I can still see the flashing effect, or the lines of the new drywall. We primed it with Kilz water base and a semi mate at least twice. Have any ideas what the heck the problem is?
