Tried to change the valve from the hot water pip(shower). Now it's still leaking. PVC?

This is in response to an e mail you sent.

First of all what type of plumbing is it? PVC; Copper; etc. Where exactly is the leak coming from?

PVC is a relatively easy fix for a DIY. Copper would take a bit more knowledge perhaps; but it's possible.

Water has to be shut off at the main in any case; and should be bled from the plumbing at the poit of the leak at least.

Send me some detail, and I'll be better able to advise.

Mr Knight is right in suggesting what to do to seek for leaks, yet once you have become adequate of a leak to sign in on your water meter and to make a rushing sound in the back of your wall, you're able to be seeing seen water gathering on the floor under, until eventually it rather is under the slab. The water can flow previous the mixer collectively as the bathe mixer is closed, yet on condition that the cartridge is undesirable and there's a significant rigidity distinction between the two factors. this might happen in case you have the nice and comfortable water grew to become off for maintenance however the chilly water runs previous the valve into the nice and comfortable water area. because of the fact the rigidity on the nice and comfortable area is geared up by potential of the inlet on the chilly area, the rigidity on the two factors may be the comparable. meaning that, for there to be a significant rigidity differential allowing flow from the nice and comfortable area to the chilly area, you will possibly elect to have a reasonably super leak on the chilly area. which could then enable that flow to proceed, in spite of if the availability valve on the water heater have been closed, allowing you to be confident that on the meter. If that's what's happening, you're able to seek for suggestion from a plumber.

You're going to have to replace the pipes that are leaking.
And this is something that you will need a plumber for unless you're experienced. Otherwise you could get the book on do it yourself projects from Home Depot! You'll more than likely need to replace the handles too unless you're able to get them off without damaging the gaskets and seals.

good luck!
