There won't be any activity unless the thermostat is set to a temperature higher than the room temp.
Make sure the furnace is plugged in, and that the outlet has power to it. Also make sure the thermostat and any switches are set correctly and if the thermostat is a battery-powered one, that the batteries are good.

Does your thermostat have a heat/ AC switch? If so switch to heat. Some times the valve in your furnace goes bad and needs replaced.
