I just moved into my first apartment and have had 2 racoon incounters. The last time it was 10 feet from my door. I am very much a city person therefore Im not one with nature :) Should I be concerned?

I never have before, but I just read an article saying that we should. If you do disconnect them, are you supposed to cover or plug the faucet? Thanks!

Is this your "true" hair color or are you just wishing? Seems like that is all I see at the garden/landscape catagory! Now that I think about it, it's about 90% redhead as opposed to blondes, brunettes, and black in all the catagory's. Ladies, clue me in will ya! Oh.. and I don't have anything against a readheaded women..lol.

I'm buying a mini-fridge and live in a n apartment by myself. Is there an easy way to carry it up the stairs without breaking my back? Tie a rope to the box maybe and pull it up? It's on the second floor. I know no one and have no friends in the area and I mean no friends. Help.

Is it in the plaster or paint? Is it something an average do-it-yourselfer can do?

I have a finished basement. It's got wallpaper on the walls and all the advice I've gotten is to leave the paper up so as not to destroy the walls underneath. It's some kind of drywall underneath the paper but I'm not exactly sure what kind. I don't want to paper the area - it's really big. If I paint, the seams will show, so I don't want to do that, either. I thought that the 'orange peel' effect will cover the seams nicely.

What special equipment is needed? Please be specific so I buy the right things. Thanks!

I am a girl learning electrician. My question is for an electrician tap and drill set with sizes 6/32 to 1/4-20, what do those numbers mean and what is the clearance hole used for?
Also, drills for tap are No. 36, 29, 25, 21, 7 and drills for clearance are No. 28, 19, 10, 10, and 1/4, what do they mean?
I appreatiate it if anybody can help. Thanks.

Hi Guys,

Here is the story. I bought a 40 year old house in LA County and got everything remodeled. However, I only have a building permit for the kitchen, Heating and Air and the windows. A couple of things:

1. I didn't know I need to have things checkout during the remodel. (i did not do that)

2. Also because I only have a permit for the kitchen, what should I do when I am asked about the other items? Stairs? Flooring

I know I made a mistake and should have gotten a permit for everything, but what should I do now? Any words on wisdom would be awesome! What is the best way to handle this situation.

I do have a CA licensed contractor working on my house.

The door to my bathroom is a sliding pocket door (it recedes into the wall), it seems to have come off the track and now I can't open or close it. It's the back roller (of course the one in the wall) that has come off. Any suggestions?

I have drained by system, and fitted a new radiator on the end of the 22mm pipes. the rad is a bathroom towel rail with non-thermostatic valves (on all the time). When I went to refill the heating system, it just would not fill, until I made one of the other rads on.

Ok, You know how cat urine is full of ammonia, and you aren't supposed to mix bleach and ammonia, well I just cleaned the litter box with bleach. (Just a spray on the empty plastic before filling it with new litter, usually i use Lysol, but I ran out and used a bleach all purpose cleaner instead)

Should i trash it? buy a new one? is it toxic right now? help!

I'm new at this, we just bought a house with a wood burning fireplace and i'm looking for some pointers. When am I supposed to close the flu? Do I keep the glass doors shut or leave them open and keep the screen shut? I guess I just need an overall lesson in maintaining an indoor fire. Thanks for your help.

There is a paper stuck on it that tells the model # energy used etc., but I don't see a year on it anywhere. It's a Carrier packaged outdoor unit. The model# is 48SS-036080311. If anyone has the abilitiy to look up the year on that model and maybe give me any other info I'd appreciate it. It needs to be repaired and I want to make sure it's not too old. Also, if that model is known for having any specific problems I'd like to know that as well.
Thanks!
