I'm buying a mini-fridge and live in a n apartment by myself. Is there an easy way to carry it up the stairs without breaking my back? Tie a rope to the box maybe and pull it up? It's on the second floor. I know no one and have no friends in the area and I mean no friends. Help.

Rent a dolly & wheel it up one step at a time... keep it in the box, lay it on its side on the staircase and push it up the slope of the stairs... go to the nearest Home Depot or something like that & offer one of the day-workers about $20 - $40 to help you bring it the stairs (it's only about 10-minutes of work - it shouldn't cost you THAT much) ... ask a neighbor to help you.

Unless you're real small, a Mini-Fridge,
(4-6 Cu Ft.), shouldn't be too much of a problem.
(Only about 45lb.s but bulky.)
See if you can see the package at the store.
You will probably be able to squat,
hug the box, get up and walk away with it.
If it's larger a hand truck is the answer.
They can be rented.
Set the fridge on it veritically, tie it in place,
and pull it up step by step from the top.

Yes, you could just lean the box over and use a rope to pull it up. Should work fine. I've had to move full size ones by myself up stairs-not fun!

But look outside--in you r neighborhood. Find a big kid, maybe 12 or 13 to help you for five bucks and save your back.

The best thing to do would probably ask the apartment manager. If that doesn't work, just ask on of the neighbors that you usually cross paths with. I'm sure that they would recognize that you would need help. Or.... just hire a delivery person.
