It is quite large; I am that intersection a lot, and marvel at it as a creation of God's.

My friend had a party the other nite and I was sitting at the kitchen table and seen a mouse come down his brick wall from the metal rafter in the ceiling. He dropped about 3 feet and took off down the back side of his kitchen counter. I heard him go "THUD!" It scared me to death. I did not know mice can do that. Do all mice climb? How can I mouse proof, so I dont get them? Do mice bite? I am terrified.

My shower walls were moldy because they used regular drywall instead of concerte board, so I ripped the tile walls out down to the studs so I could redo them.

But I now see that the concrete floor does NOT go right to the studs. It has a 1/2 inch "trench" all around it between it and the wall studs. The waterproof membrane in the floor does go under this trench and is flush against the studs.

1] If have no idea why they did this trench. They did have the drywall laying down inside this trench (which I understand is wrong and is probably why it got so wet - the board behind the tile should be slightly raised from the floor). But what is with the trench - why did they do it this way?

2] I'm not sure what to do about it. I will be installing concrete board on the walls now. Someone said I should fill this trench with a bonded topping type product to get rid of it. Otherwise I'll just leave it as an "air pocket". I'm not sure what to do!???

Thanks!

We live in a rented house and tonight i have been sitting here at my pc working and i keep hearing a scratching sound like a rodent scratching or digging. It is coming from either the flooboards of the walls in my bedroom.I tried to crawl in to the cupboard in the airing cupboard of my bedroom to see if theres anything in there but nothing. There are planty of ohls where pipes come in and out. Luckily we do not have gas but we have oil central heating.

not sure what to do if i could get to where the darn thing is i could shot it with my air pistol but other then that i do not know what to do. We live right in the country so i guess it could be a mouse or a rat.

What can i do? i cant take up floor boards and knock holes in walls as this is not my house.

We have a huge pine tree that is about 18ft & are thinking about getting it removed. I would like it down before Christmas since I can no longer light up the tree. It's simply too high. I used the second largest telescopic pole that Home Depot carried last year; this year it won't reach it.

If we get the tree removed I plan on getting some PVC tubing and run the lights down it on an angle - which would be staked to the ground.

Any rough estimates?

If you know alot about this please give me different prices for different sizes in case it is really higher than I think...hope not!

Thanks in advance!

Please see the link below for a pic of the tree. You'll see it on the left side. Sorry about it being blurry.

In case you're wondering, our electric bill is low. We use mostly LED lighting which is about 70-85% less electricity.

I just get into one of those moods where I hate it and put it off for as long as possible. Other days, I can get around and get to it...
Is this normal or is it me?

Could it be powered with solar perhaps? Just thinking about taking a heating element from an electric dryer and installing it in the plenum and trying to heat the house with that. Would it save on the heating oil bill to do this? What is your best estimate if it will cost over 2000 to heat with oil this winter with oil? Could I have a savings in using this electric heater?

I think it is brass but I am not sure. The front has been painted copper and is in mint condition it is the back that the substance I think is mold is growing. I am sure it is a metal because it has sauter marks where the seems are.
I think it is mold because it is a white substance whch has beaded up on one side and in some places it has turned a slight green color. It is obviosly working tis way to the other side of the statue too.

All 4 boys are about 100 pounds and 5 ft. Nothing fancy, just big enough to fit them all . I was thinking about three by three metres on each floor, with a cabinet in the roof. Nothing too fancy, the boys have a 250 dollar budget. If that isn't enough I could pitch in a bit. About how much would it cost? How much time will it take?? What supplies will we need?? How much man power should we have? How tall should it be?? I was thinking 2.5 meters each floor with some cabinets, a heater some chairs board games, a mini fridge etc. Each floor should be able to hold about 600 pounds.

All these things are necessary, signed Jay.

I'm testing what plant will grow for the longest period of time when watered with a mixture of motor oil and water. I know that the plants will die very soon, but I'll start watering them with the water oil mixture after leaves sprout.

What plant sprouts quickly that I can buy in the bulk (seed packets)?

I go to these people's house in Hunt Valley, MD twice a week. I stay for 6 hours at a time and I am paid $10 an hour to watch their new puppy. However, the puppy naps a lot and I end up doing other chores most of the day. I do the laundry, the dishes, the vacuuming, and other general cleaning. Once a month they ask me to clean their fancy crystal glasses by hand. Their house is huge, about 5,000 sq. feet. I like the people I work for and I love their puppy. I just don't think I am being paid appropriately for the amount of work I do. How much do you think I should be paid per hour? Any insight is appreciated. Thank you.
