We have just spent a lot of money to make our grass look nice.
We JUST noticed that our grass was lifted in some areas... now we know that we have a mole tearing and lifting up our grass..... how can we get rid of it humanely and without taking any laws?

Sonic Mole Chaser. They are small metal stake type devices that are either battery or solar powered. You put them in the ground and they vibrate every several seconds. This vibrating makes a very loud noise undergound & chases off burrowing critters. They work great, some cover a good distance. I have seen the at Lowe's, Home Depot for about $19.95. I bought 4 on line at the web site that sells the DR Grader, DR Mower etc.
No poisons, gas, traps or killings.

Where you see holes or regular traveled areas,place small mouse traps with peanut butter on them under a bucket.The bucket intensifies the smell of the peanut butter and makes them feel secure enough to surface.Your right about the laws governing the use of poisons on moles but this method is within the law and the only one that really works.But its not very humane.Good Luck.

The sonic device is good, but look for the wind powered one. It has a stake that you put into the ground and it is powered by wind and looks like a windmill. Wwhile getting rid of the moles, it is also fun to watch and decorative at the same time!

Moles have an excellent sense of smell and detest anything 'nasty' in their runs.
I put firelighters (unlit) in the runs, they hate it and move on. The smell from the firelighters last for a long time so it tends to be quite a while before they come back again.

Set up a trap, a cage so you can catch him and move him. Also, place mothballs in any holes that you find or sprinkle them around suspected areas.
