We have about 10 red leaf photinia trees on our property between six and eight feet tall that were planted as bushes (2 to 3 feet tall) two years ago. Until this year we have never had problems with them. We have had an extreme amount of rain and then a full month of terrible heat. Three of the plants have completely turned brown but the others are vibrant. We haven't done anything different. I did some research but could only find spot diseases, nothing about brown leaves. Does anyone know what might be the problem and will they come back next year ok? The trunks seem healthy. Thanks!

MUST BE MANUAL. Can't stand those battery operated ones and the electric are not portable. My pampered chef opener was great but now it no longer works and they do not make that model any more.

currently in the process of having wooden (pine?) board & batten shutters built for home. want to get the distressed look when painting the shutters black or slate. I heard there is a distress ink that can be applied to the shutters. Has anyone done this before, or know how to paint the shutters with a distressed look? Thank you.

They're everywhere! In bedrooms, the kitchen, bathroom, and in the attic, maybe not the basement but only because I'm rarely down there. The rats do the same routine everyday, at 8:00 PM they're somewhere around the kitchen, then at midnight I can see them hugging the wall while running and under beds. The sticky traps don't work because they can avoid them and they don't eat the poison that was put in the cracks. These rats are smart! Can anyone tell me how to get rid of them?

Ok I am purchasing a home that has a huge kitchen/livingroom/breakfast eat in area all in one. It is about 45 ft by 20 ft. Any ways... the kitchen area has white cabinets but we are going to reaplce those with a spicy maple cabinets. The floor in the kitchen and dining area is dark oak. The living room has carpeting that is maroon (I don't like it much). Right now it is all light tan. It looks very cold. I would really like to warm the whole area up. I really like red walls and the right shade would match the carpet. I am just afraid all red would look too red. I decorate primitive so I really do not like anything too modern. Ok now it is up to you!! THanks!!

This is my first time growing roses. I purchased the Veteran's Honor rose hybrid.
It had several blooms yesterday, that have dropped already.

I have two dogs and their smell was never an issue until now. Now my house is really starting to reek. I have tried baking soda in the carpets, carpet freshner, air freshner, ionic breeze, candles and incense. Any advice? I thought about one of those automatic freshners that sprays every few minutes. And no, I am not getting rid of the dogs.

Basically, the plant was around 10 centimetres tall, a slightly thick green stalk with a number of a rather large reddish seeds at the top (the seeds were similar to pomegranate seeds ('Arils'). That's all

Unfortunately, I don't have a picture (I know, I'm sorry). The plant has now disappeared, presumed taken by a cat or something.

There was only one in my garden - the first I've ever seen - and it grew underneath my cherry tree, presumably due to a bird having dropped a seed for it obtained from elsewhere.

If you can accompany your guess with a web linked photo that would be great.

Happy guessing!

The capacitor has 2 electrical mounts and both are 2 pronged so a total of 4 prongs but I can't tell which is positive or negative and I don't want to put it in the opener and have it get fried. Is there anyway to tell which is the positive and which is the negative? Thanks if anyone can answer this one.
