currently in the process of having wooden (pine?) board & batten shutters built for home. want to get the distressed look when painting the shutters black or slate. I heard there is a distress ink that can be applied to the shutters. Has anyone done this before, or know how to paint the shutters with a distressed look? Thank you.

I can't imagine what motivates people to want a distressed look on something new. But if they do it typically invloves doing a background coat of paint first, then taking a chain or similar metal tool and pounding on the wood to give it a bunch of dents, and then wiping another color onto the wood so it will sink intothe dents.
