I have two dogs and their smell was never an issue until now. Now my house is really starting to reek. I have tried baking soda in the carpets, carpet freshner, air freshner, ionic breeze, candles and incense. Any advice? I thought about one of those automatic freshners that sprays every few minutes. And no, I am not getting rid of the dogs.

I had the same problem until I discovered a steam cleaner, and yankee candles, you say you use candles, but yankee candles are wonderful, and smell delicious. I bought a couple of plug in's from them called "clean cotton" and they are wonderful, and last forever. Now people come into my home, and remark on how lovely it smells. And a steam cleaner will deep clean your carpets soft furnishings and hard floors.

Don't worry you'll eventually get used to it.

Probably some dampness somewhere...and dog hair.

Do you groom the dogs often? Maybe that will help. Nice doggie shampoo.

If the baking soda and carpet freshner aren't doing it I don't know what to suggest.
Maybe a professional cleaning. Scrubbing the wall and shampooing the carpet and furniture.

Keep all chew toys and bones outside....

I would not get rid of my dog either! The best way that I've found to get rid of those dog smells (dog --- not pee or poop) is to vacuum daily and change the vac bag every 2 weeks if your dog sheds a lot. Air fresheners ... even febreeze will not get rid of the smell since the smell lays in the dog hair. You might need to bathe or brush your dog more often.

No I wouldn't even think of getting rid of the puppies, sometimes there better than people. Take a few bowls of white vinegar and put them on a table in the room that is the worst, and that will remove the odor. Vinegar is an odor eater and will help.

If it's your house, rip the carpets up. Other than that, not much else helps. Trying to cover up the smell will only make it worse.

Specify whether it is a 'dog poop' smell, or 'dog hair' smell. You can fix the 'dog hair' smell MUCH easier than the latter!
