If you live in florida you cant really get rid of them . You can have your house sprayed proffesionally and that is about all you can do . and stay away from pecan trees they like to hide out in the old shells . good luck .they are extremely poisonous and if you get bitten you must get to a hospital because there venom eats your flesh . good luck .

Ok, I'm not going to do like these 2 and say you're sol and you better be ready to go to the hospital. I had good success with chesnuts and conkers as well as sticky traps. DO NOT buy poisons or those electronic clicker things that are supposed to repel them. I bought 4 for $50 and put thim in my bedrooms and bathroom; woke up one morning and found a wolf spider sitting on the built in light of one.

Seriously the Lady Bug Beetle is great for controlling spiders. Some people farm them and sell them in areas with indoor spider problems. These type of spiders like to get indoors to avoid the heat. Something I learned once when my daughter was bitten!
