MUST BE MANUAL. Can't stand those battery operated ones and the electric are not portable. My pampered chef opener was great but now it no longer works and they do not make that model any more.

I have a current Pampered Chef can opener and I LOVE it because it cuts the can open in a way so that the can and the lid are smooth (no sharp edges) and the lid doesn't fall back into the can. They currently run $17.50. I haven't seen the older model of the can opener, but I can't imagine it comparing to this model, it is awesome.

Swing-away makes a pretty good model. Has 2" wings instead of the "mickey mouse eared" ones - those alway hurt my fingers.

A P-38 you can get one at an army superlus, store, they never wear out or dull,
