My son spilled about a gallon of laundry detergent on my living room carpet. I have already started to soak it up but it's taking forever and I seem to be getting nowhere fast. Any help would be appreciated. Another question...will this cause any kind of long-term damage to my carpet?

I just bought a new living room set. Sofa, love seat and chair pictured here: http://www.globalfurnitureusa.com/popup.php?id=1147&cat_id=6&page=&contain_id=1

I would have preferred brown leather pieces, but I got a great deal on the black set. My furniture is an expresso finish. I've seen this paired with black leather in other furniture (chairs and bar stools) and have seen a similar table paired with a black leather set and a rust colored carpet, so I know they can worh together, but dont know how best to "marry" the brown and black pieces. I'm guessing I should use throws and pillows, but not sure what colors would be best.

The sofa, loveseat and chair are black leather. Furniture is expresso. Walls are eggshell white. Carpeting is a taupe. (this is a rental so I'd prefer not to paint the walls)

What colors would be a good choice? Any suggestions where I can buy the throws and pillows?

the vent in my bathroom ceiling continually has condensation on it to the point that it drips....i know this is an issue of temperature...(i live in florida so my a/c runs a lot)....i only have a small vent window above the shower and no fan in there.....now i am noticing mildew around the vent....how can i prevent the condensation?....it is the only vent in the house that does this and it is not the master bath....i am concerned with additional issues occuring with the a/c system such as mildew in the ducts and this circulating through the entire house...can this potentially be a problem for me?

Just got this bra from victoria secret. Right now as we speak it's soaking in clorox, how do I make it white white white like how it was? Someone decided to use it to wipe something up that is sort of tanish yellow and its on both sides of my bra. Looks like the whole bra is turning that color... Please tell me what I should do or how long I should soak it for ?

We bought our house 2 months ago and it shows only dirt and weeds. We're thinking of going through a service.

However, a friend told us that we just need to aerate and seed it in the fall and it should be ok by spring. Help!

They all say they are mold-proof, but after a while there's no stopping it. I put the liner into the wash and it cleans it really well, but the mold inevitably comes back. It's usually down where the liner clings to the tub and is probably because it can't dry out well there, but I can't figure out how to solve that issue.

Is there something with which you can clean the liner or something to put on the liner to keep mold from growing?

Really stupid question here but necessary so you don't need to slam me OK ? I can't get my wall funace pilot light lit and the guy who installed it is coming. It is summer here but our mornings now are very very cool, unusual so I turn on the oven and open the door. Is that really expensive ? I only do it for like 1/2 hour ? I have called him and have also tried to light the pilot myself and could always do the onld one, but this one I don't understand and I am not about to blow myself up. I do not have any man to ask OK ? nor anyone else. just you folks thanks Please don't tell me to go stick my head in the oven and close it :)

We live in an apartment overseas which has been outfitted with full-size American appliances. The gas source here is LPG, so our Kenmore range was converted (how well the conversion was done is anyone's guess). We have had a gas smell in the cabinet adjacent to the range ever since we moved in, and while our maintenance guy has tried various methods to seal up the gaps, the hose itself is vinyl, which I'm assuming is leaching gas and causing the gas odor. So, can an LPG range ever be properly plumbed with vinyl tubing? Or should I insist on metal?

I found some land that I would like to buy that's currently covered in Christmas Trees. I know that the pesticides for Christmas Trees cause cancer. I would like to know, I I buy the land, and dig up all the trees, then is there some way for me to clense the land from the pesticides still in the soil, or do I just have to wait, and if I have to wait, how long.

Thanks.
