They all say they are mold-proof, but after a while there's no stopping it. I put the liner into the wash and it cleans it really well, but the mold inevitably comes back. It's usually down where the liner clings to the tub and is probably because it can't dry out well there, but I can't figure out how to solve that issue.

Is there something with which you can clean the liner or something to put on the liner to keep mold from growing?

FYI: I do keep the liner fully extended, but I wonder if that's part of the problem because then the whole thing just clings to the wet tub and never dries well. I like the idea of pulling the liner outside the tub, but how do you keep it from dripping (even after shaking the excess water out)?

Personally I dont' have the patience to spray Tilex on it, which you're supposed to do all the time.

I just throw it in the wash in hot water and use bleach. Works like a charm.

I shake the liner out, to remove excess water, then push it out side of the tub - it helps it dry out more instead of just leaving it up against the inside of the wet tub.

Also don't leave it bunched up during the day. Draw it out completely to insure that it is drying during the day.

If that doesn't work, I suggest using a fabric safe cleaner for mold and mildew... There are some tub cleaners that may be safe for your liner. Do a test on a small area on the bottom of the liner, if no damage occurs then it should be safe to use on a larger area.

Just be careful with the fumes and DON'T MIX any chemicals!

Good Luck!

I was using a fabric shower curtain too and i still have that problem so what i did was added two layers...one layer on the outside hanging out of the tub is the fabric, and on the inside is the plastic shower curtain.

As for the plastic shower curtain, i would recommend changing it every month or 2, i mean it's only $8 and it's safe for whoever is taking a shower. Dont wanna shower and sniff the mold while you're at it.

=D

Well, I usually try to take my shower curtain down at least twice a month and stick it in the wash. I also like to use that Tilex after shower spray. I spray it on the walls and floor of the shower as well as anywhere there is water on the curtain and that seems to do the trick for me. I have not seen any mold in ages. Try it to see if it will help! Good luck and have a nice day! :)

See if you can by a mold inhibiting liner or put in a glass door, a good fan might work. Problem is most people do not like to clean liners or curtains. Believe me a flat surface like a glass door is better. It is easier to clean and mold may not adhere to it as well and you can squeegee after each shower so it dries faster. Good luck.

The only reliable cure I've seen for that is to wash the liner in hot water and bleach once in a while. Though drying the tub out after you use it helps too.

I dry the shower down every day and when it is good and dry, I spray Lysol spray on the curtain and all over the sides of the shower...this works because we have a severe mold problem that I keep in check this way...Lysol spray kills mold...

When you get out of the shower you pull the curtain so that it is just how it is when you shower. Dont keep it pushed to one side, it will not dry properly which in turn causes mold. Watch, your mold problem will dissapear guaranteed!

I use the tilex daily shower spray. Just test it first to make sure it doesn't change the color of your fabric on mine it's fine. I don't seen to have to wash it as much since I spray this everyday after my shower.
