You can and will die from being trapped on the inside of a refrigerator, this is called death by asphyxiation ( no fresh breathable air ) as for opening a fridge from the inside, if it is the type with a magnetic strip around the perimeter then yes it can be pushed open provided that it is not lain down with door to the ground, floor or pushed up against any wall or post or any other unmovable object.

But if it is the older style with the mechanical latching system the answer is no it can not be opened from the inside, that is why years ago there was a PSA ( public service announcement ) about removing the door to a fridge or freezer BEFORE it was placed at the curb for trash pick-up. To many kids were getting locked inside and suffocating.

I cant because I wont put myself in a fridge but, I have had things fall off the shelf in my fridge and open the door. So yes it can be opened from the inside. Peace out.............

Well you can die from going in a fridge so I wouldn't suggest going inside. And all fridges are different! Mine barley opens from the outside!

Most units now have magnets rather than clasps to hold the doors shut. This makes it cheaper for the manufacturer, safer for the customer and easier to open overall.
