I live in a apartment building, 5 apartments down, and five up. I am on a end upstairs, however what if these BED BUGS are coming from the apartment next door, coming through the cracks and the walls? I'm on section 8 and I don't want this thing known to sec 8 or the super intendant, without it being a huge production , and people looking at mne as if I did it, or that I'm a dirty person. Who splits the bill? Do I pay or does the super, or sec 8 pay?I dont have other people living with me, no pets, no kids. No BF how could they get here? Thanks again

I'd like a queen and I'd like it to last at least 10 years. What is a good brand? Where can I get a good deal? I would like to have a payment plan, like 12 months with no interest, if possible (my credit is average). I am also open to getting a slightly used mattress, as long as it is very clean. Any suggestions are appreciated. I'm in the Los Angeles area.

I have termintes on the patio, and a section of the roof where there is a leak. I had like 4 quotes from 4 pest control people. They all give me different solutions... one wants to tent, one says orange oil, another with hot temperature or something... so WHAT is the proper way to treat termites???

They are right next to my house. Picture an L shape. They are in the inside corner of the L. I've had people come and see if they can grind it down, but they can't get in there. It's too small of an area. I put some epson salt on it but I don't think it's doing anything. Someone please help me. I can't do anything in my garden till it's out. Thanks!

Just been given a new corded hedge trimmer and managed to accidentally cut the cord! It's brand new so don't want to throw it out unless I really have to and need to get the work done in the garden asap so don't really want to take it into a shop.

Can I get a join or a connector to fix the cord from a DIY shop? I'll try to get the other half to do the mending but he's not really talking to me right now that i've broken his new toy! Thought i'd get in everything he needs to help the storm settle down!

I rent 1/4 acre that is surrounded with 12-15 full-sized pine trees. The needles have turned half the yard into a dirt farm and the wind scatters them everywhere conceivable. I have a large fan rake but I have to beat at the ground rapidly just to get the motion going and it can take over two hours to do the entire lawn. Anyone know of alternative methods? I don't want to be up to my neck in them but raking pine needles is really exhausting compared to other kinds of work I do. The only search results I find are about how beneficial they are as mulch. Sheezz.

I know it's a stupid question, but my dryer is working. It just takes four hours to dry a small load of washed laundry. I noticed the lint trap doesn't get filled up. I was thinking it was that. Is there a way I can clean it myself just in case there's a plug?

My dad is planning to replace his oil-fired furnace. Someone had mentioned to him the existence of a dual fueled unit, one that can use wood or oil. He has a good amount of firewood available, so, the only cost associated with it would be harvesting the dead wood and splitting it.

Does anyone have any experience with such a unit? How well does it heat when using wood vs. using oil? Can you run it for extended periods on oil (say, if you are on vacation for a few weeks)? Compared to replacing with an oil-only unit, would a dual-fuel unit have a positive, negative or no effect on the value of the home (ie. is having a dual fueled unit viewed negatively by potential buyers, since he is also considering putting his house on the market in another year or two)?

Thanks!

I live in Cartersville Ga and over the past 3-4 weeks we have had a problem with little black ants on and in our vehicles. Not just a few I mean at least 100 or more. They are all over the console, dash, seats, floor, and the shifter. I have vacuumed and cleaned the heck out of it and still everyday there are ants. They were all on and in my daughters carseat we don't allow food to be eaten in the car so I know it can't be from something someone spilled. My husband yesterday parked his beand new truck he had just bought and within 2 hours ants all over the exterior and interior of it. We have treated the yard since we have moved in 1 1/2 mponths ago and have sprayed the exteriior and interior of the house as well. I am at my wits end with them. Any suggestions on how to keep them off and out of my car would be helpful I would prefer an method that would prevent them from coming back again. I have heard that many people are having problems because of the drought.

Anyone who has 12 year olds might be able to feel my pain here. Some how a 6 inch lizard (it was dead) ended up in the wash! We missed it when sorting clothes and it got washed & dried. Washing machine is fine but dryer smells AWFUL!! We've cleaned the entire interior of the dryer with bleach based kitchen cleaner & run 2 loads of old towels with tons of dryer sheets. Still stinks. Any suggestions? Saw a suggestion of washing out with Simple Green & then tossing in 5 + damp potpourri bags. Will try that but was curious if there were other ideas. HELP Please...
