Score the paper with a wallpaper scorer (made to make little holes in the paper) spray wall (or area) small areas at a time, with fabric softner...it works THE BEST in my opinion...better than those expensive removers...start peeling...being careful not to peel off sheetrock paper along with the wallpaper...
It the wall paper is REALLY glued on there...paint over it (I had to do this in three of my rooms when we bought our house)...5 years later and NO ONE can tell we painted over wallpaper....if the wallpaper is a heavy color, you will need to use a paint primer...if it's a texture, the paint CAN look cool over it...(there is a special paint just for this)...anyway you try doing it...it takes A LOT of good old fashioned "elbow grease".

STEAM. They sell or rent a 'steam machine' that you fill with water that 'heats it' and sends the steam out in a 'pattern' to make the removal of wallpaper easier. STEAM is the 'best way' to remove wallpaper ... as far as I know, it's the 'only way' to do it and get a 'totally good result' ..

IF the paper was glued directly onto the drywall, then use oil based Kilz as a primer, then paint directly over that. If the paper in over another layer of paper, then score and use a stripping agent, such as DIF. Fabric softener is cheaper, but can leave stains and really doesn't work as well. Also, using a steamer may take both layers of paper off, which is a good thing only if you want to get down to the drywall.

steam wallpaper remover... does a VERY good job. if there are still some tiny bits of wallpaper left on the wall spray some water on them to get it wet and it'll easilly come off.

Go to a rental center and rent a steamer to remove it. It steams right through the paper and rewets the adhesive so it just peels off. I tried it, and it works!

Our kitchen was wall papered and we just used hot water in a squirt bottle, let it soak in and then scrapped the paper away (but the paper was really old and easy to peel...)
