Ok here I am again, the 56 yr old dinosaur who can't afford a man, I keep buying weedeaters and I can't handle a gas one for health/physical reasons, but it seems that the string ones that you tap to get more line always seem to be more trouble than they are worth, they jam and I spend more time fixing them and unjamming them ,anyone know of a good affordable one, and if not affordable at least a good string one that works, just using on lawn edging WEndy who really appreciates you help

I had a slow drain. So, I used baking soda/vinegar mix to break down the gunk and stuff. Yet, it just broke it down and it settled somewhere making a very tough clog.

I later got Draino Gel Max.... I am not sure if it just not working or the clog is that bad. I left it overnight and it is still there. Even in the sink, that how bad the clog is.

Is it all reacted? What am I going to do with all this stuff? Should I get a plumber.

I was just thinking of buying a snake. Would it be okay to use in the Draino.

Hello Gardeners, We bought two Hibiscus last summer that our dog ate. Well there wasn't much to them left so I planted them outside last fall in Zone 7 (North Carolina Piedmont) not expecting much from them. What little green was there died off in the winter down to the ground. This spring/summer they grew about 3 foot high and wide with a great color display.

My question is, since they both lived through a frost winter, what should I do this year? Should I cut them back to the base? Dig em up and bring them in? If I cut them back should I cut em down to the root level again or just give them a trim? I don't have the variety info and I looked at Rose of Sharon and the leaf structure doesn't look the same so I don't think they are azaleas.

I want to go to Lowe's or Home Depot and buy some lumber for my newly bought power tools. I plan on making random things whenever I feel like it and I'm looking for a general all purpose type of wood. I know there are specific woods for specific projects but there has to be something that's okay for everything. I want to build chests, little bookcases, rice paper lamps, stools, dvd cases, or whatever else I can think of. I'd also like to keep it in the cheap to moderate price range nothing expensive I just want to stock up. Thanks.

Anyone know what is happening with the shower? It is shorting the electrical circuit in the house and the breaker kicks in. The shower (electric) works if set on cold, but once the button for warm or hot shower is used, the whole circuit cuts out and the electrics go down in the house. It's been working fine until today.

Would anyone have any suggestions or good advice?

Thank you!!

This is the lawnmower nightmare. I put some dirty gas in it and it cost me $140 in all to get it fixed so I left the gas can (plastic) open and empty to air out but I guess some cobwebs or ?? got in it so I went to get more gas and then put it in my newly fixed $140 lawnmower and I think I put dirty gas in again. It runs sometimes and the engine kind of lopes along. What can I do besides get smarter :0 sorry, female here, not clear thinking , but what happens, does it clog something or something I can clean out ? Please don't slam me my life is a struggle as it is . AND I'M ON A VERY FIXED BUDGET SO THIS IS REALLY AN ISSUE AND HAVE NO MAN TO FIX IT. AND CAN'T AFFORD A MAN :)

it seems to heat up the living room, and I mean a lot. It is not unusual for the living room to be 8- 10 degrees hotter than rest of house. I have a ranch style house in So. Cal about 4 miles away from the beach. It is a pretty temperate climate. My living room faces south and gets full exposure to the sun. We have dual pane windows and walls and attic are insulated r- 19 minimum. The skylights are 10 -15 years old and 4 ft by 2 ft, they are an opaque white color. recently sealed and insulated the seals.
1. What can I do? I love the light it brings in, house would be very dark without them!

My kitchen, dining room and living room are in a U shape and I have picked out a taupe color from Ralph Lauren (devonshire is the name) to paint all 3 of the rooms. I would like to to do a red accent wall in the dining room to help make it pop. I just don't know how to pick the wall to paint. I was thinking the one wall that the kitchen and dining room shares or maybe better to do the one that the living and dining room share. Anything to make things look bigger and pop. Any ideas!

musty smell and it wont go away. I have steam cleaned the carpets twice. Once with my steam cleaner and the second time with a commercial one. I am making sure that all the water is sucked up and the fan blows constantly until the carpets dry. I am at my wits end with the smell and i need some help. I have tried the carpet crystals and they just masked the odors for like 15 minutes. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
