I have a laminated table-top I am painting. I started with two coats of BIN primer, and followed with two coats of latex enamel (I would have used oil-based enamel, but the store didn't carry it in the tint base I needed). Now I want to apply clear lacquer to get a glossy durable surface. Should the paint cure for a certain amount of time before I apply the lacquer?

(Yes I can read, yes, I've read the directions on the can, but I know paint can be slightly tacky for *days* after a paint job. When is it safe to lacquer?)

I need to "liven" up my boring cubicle. The walls are bare and my desk needs more on it then just the files and paper.

Do you know where I can find some cool stuff? Either online or in a store.
** I've looked at Ebay, but can't seem to really find what I'm looking for. (which category would I look under?)
Certain "words" to use for my search?

I have also looked at www.thinkgeek.com

** Any stores carry things like this? Target...? Walmart...? Which others? I live in Southern California/LA area.

Thank you for any tips or suggestions!!

If lightning hits your power lines would it cause all your circuit breakers to flip off or could it just cause one of them to flip off?

There were a lot of storms and lightning real close to our house and one of the circuit breakers turned off during the night and cannot be reset. The first time I reset it, it stayed in the on position for several seconds and then switched off. Now it switches back off immediately and sparks right behind the switch.

Any ideas what the problem could be? Does this sound like storm damage or something else?

We just ripped up our carpeting and have hardwood floors underneath. There seems to be a significant gap (viewable from standing up and looking down but less than an 1/2 in.) between the bottom of the baseboard and the floor itself. Do we need to caulk this, and if so, with what? Or are we supposed to leave it to prevent buckling if the wood expands and contracts? Or do we have to now rip out the baseboards (arg!) and install new ones closer to the floor?

Hello, new to gardening and have a new house with no landscaping. I live in the midwest.

-I want to plant some shrubs (maybe flowering shrubs) but I want to know I can do this in the fall. If not, what CAN I plant in last summer/early fall?
-What is the difference between Deciduous Shrubs and Evergreen Shrubs?
- Can I plant flowers in late summer/early fall? The kind that come up every year? (I think these are called Perennials?) Any recommendations?

Thanks so much in advance!

I have a home in the midwest. The basement received about 1 foot and a half of water. We have drained the basement by renting something from Home Depot and we bought a generator since we have had no power for 3 days. Now what? I want to make sure I don't miss anything. And I don't want to claim anything on my insurance because the basement was finished but empty.

I've seen some trees in the past that were in people's front yards that were shaped to look like a much larger bonsai tree. I've been driving around and haven't been able to see one.

Does anyone know what type of tree this is? I don't think REAL bonsai trees grow that large, but I'm looking for a tree for my front yard about 4 feet tall that looks like a bonsai.

Any ideas, advice? Thanks for reading!

Its several years old, but don't all Craftsman products have a lifetime warranty? or even if they won't replace it where can i get parts to fix it?
