I want to decorate my teen daughters bedroom in a "gypsy style" By this I mean purples, deep red, green, etc. She would also like to have beads and velvet...any ideas??

How fun! Call it "Moroccan style" and see what you can find on the web. I think an important part of this style are velvet and gauzy draperies, hanging from the ceiling. A really cute idea is to have an old-fashioned velvet loveseat in the room, and surround it with drapes hanging from a ring on the ceiling. Makes a great place to read books or talk on the phone! Also, think lots of cushions, and a low table.
(-: If you really want gypsy, you might even consider a crystal ball! Maybe some tarot cards, which can have some amazing illustrations! (But only if you feel comfy having that in the house. Some people don't.)
You can find lots of old necklaces at flea markets and places like Goodwill. I would buy a bunch (especially pearls and ones with coins or charms), and hook them together, and string those with the draperies.
Good luck with it -- it sounds like a really relaxing decorating style!
Oh, and one more thing! Room slippers! These would be so cute!!! The Moroccan style ones that are embroidered, and have the little turned-up toe . . . .
