Use a damp cloth to blot up spills as soon as they happen. Never allow liquids to stand on your floor.
For tough spots, such as oil, paint, markers, lipstick, ink, or tar, use acetone/nail polish remover on a clean white cloth, then wipe the area with a damp cloth to remove any remaining residue.
Sweep, dust, or vacuum the floor regularly with the hard floor attachment (not the beater bar) to prevent accumulation of dirt and grit that can scratch or dull the floor finish.
Periodically clean the floor with cleaning products made specifically for laminate floor care. For optimum results, we recommend Shaw's R2X Hard Surfaces Flooring Cleaner.
Do not wash or wet mop the floor with soap, water, oil-soap detergent, or any other liquid cleaning material. This could cause swelling, warping, delamination, and joint-line separation, and void the warranty.
Do not use steel wool, abrasive cleaners, or strong ammoniated or chlorinated type cleaners.
Do not use any type of buffing or polishing machine.
For spots such as candle wax or chewing gum, harden the spot with ice and then gently scrape with a plastic scraper, such as a credit card. Be careful not to scratch the flooring surface. Wipe clean with a damp cloth.
A more frequent dust-mopping or vacuuming schedule may be required in very sandy areas such as a beach home=)

If you have previously used name brand products, getting used to vinegar and water may be hard, but well worth it. It also may take some time to remove the residue, if there is one. I used to clean a couple's home who had laminate wood floors. After years of using a "spray on wipe off" product, they switched to the Bissel Floormate. It streaked all over the place and they thought something was wrong with it. I assured them there was not and instead of using the cleaner that came with it, I used water and vinegar. It took about 4-5 washings to completely rid the floor of streaks, but it finally did.
Beware of all those commercial products that make false promises. They don't want you to have clean floors, they just want to make more money. They just lead to more problems down the line.

Laminate floors are already sealed. Use the product recommended by the floor company.I do small areas at a time with a swifter covered with a solution soaked rag. Then I dry it with a dry cloth on a swifter to prevent streaks. You may be able to forget the last step depending on the solution.

Use only white vinegar and water. Do not saturate and if there are things that are stuck, just rub a little and it will come off. If you want them to really shine, go over them with a dry cloth.
