I want to put a fire pole in a section of my house so I can slide from my second story to my first floor. One question though, where the heck can you get one?

Okay, this might be a completely stupid question but...

I need to re-pot a pine tree that I have started to grow. I have some old soil that was used to grow some basil but it died (my talent of killing growing things!!!). Now, would it be okay for me to reuse the soil from the basil plant to re-pot the pine tree in to or, should I buy some new soil?

As you can see, I'm no gardener!!!

I rent a house, so I'm looking for a cheep fix here. When I moved in 5 months ago and the water had a health drip at the time, now it is at a constant drissle. The worst part is that its the hot water and the water heater is running all the time to keep it warm.
Please don't answer with something telling me to just tell my landlord, if I can fix things myself I don't like to bother him. That way when something big comes up I'm not that annoying tennant that is always complaining.
Thanks!

Im thirteen, and I am going to redo my room.
I want to make it a little vintage-y looking but not anything too old like my granma's living room. haha.
im thinking about doing it it a light pink, maybe to make it a little bit more modern then i should do darker pink vertical stripes.
my room isnt that big so i dont want to do anything that would make it look too crowded.
so if you have any ideas for decorationg or any websites i can go to for bedding that would be really great.
thank you so much!!

Yesterday I was cutting grass and my riding lawnmower started going off. I can turn it on and it runs. But when I put it into gear and start moving (even with the mowing deck NOT engaged) it goes off. Sometimes I can drive it for 3 foot, sometimes for 30 foot, sometimes not at all. I can press the clutch real quick to kick it out of gear and it will then stay on. Know what this might be? Also is there a rule of thumb as far as how fast to put the motor when in a particular gear? Thanks in advance.

Does anyone use them? Are they worth the cost? Are there cheaper alternatives that are of equal or better quality?

I am not sure what to do. I planted a pumpkin for my daughter and it is a little bit bigger than a bowling ball and has already turned orange. Can I leave it on the vine for longer or should I pick it now?

Roof was coated about 6 months ago with alumminum with fibers. It did not help. I think it was oil based coating by Kool Seal. I am a widow on a fixed income and cannot afford a new roof. There are no loose or damaged shingles.

The tree bent in the wind but it did not break. However there is a crack about 8 inches above the base that is approx 3 inches wide and 6 inches long. I do not want it to be damaged by disease or weather. Can I apply a wrap or some kind of sealant to save the tree? It is probably 10 years old and I would hate to loose it.

Someone told me it made the oven heat unevenly and cooking time longer, but I keep foil on the bottom of it so it's easier to clean. Just wondering if it was really true that it's more harmful than helpful.

Twice now we have woken up to tiny bugs in our bed. They look like poppy seeds almost and they dont really move. When you look close it looks like a tick because its kind of flat then it has the little lets to the front of the body. There hasnt been any attached to myself, my husband or the dog either times. But its is disgusting to wake up in a bed full of bugs. They are not bed bugs and we wash our sheets every week. The dog must have ran into some nest of some sort. Anyone knwo what they could be? Iv tried looking up ticks and I cant find anything.

And still have a smooth finish? I'm painting a desk with drawers on it, but the back of the drawer section is made of particleboard. The desk is in a position so that you can clearly see the back, so I was wondering if I painted it black it would still look nice. Also if you can recommend any particular brand or type of paints.

I can not believe it is possible that a central air unit can last over 30 years but mine has (knock on wood)...I had a tech service it recently and he said I was living on borrowed time and would have to replace the unit soon...Could it be possible he is just telling me this so I will fork out the money to have it replaced? Should I just wait and see what happens? He said they usually don't last past 20 years!! Opinions please...

My washing machine doesn't seem to be getting enough water. Water just trickles into the powder despencer so i have to top it up with 3 or 4 jugs of hot water. Could it be anything to do with the water pressure? All taps are running ok. Its not blocked as it has been checked. Thanks!

PS. have a newborn baby in house so really need clean clothes all the time!!

Due to my work schedule, I can only clear my driveway when I get home (around midnight). I was wondering if anyone makes mufflers for my Snow King snow thrower so I don't wake up half the neighborhood. Thanks!

I need it to be 7 by 16ft and a height if 7 feet.
And I need to know how to attach it to the ground properly (I wanted to lay on on blocks, no slab)

Is there anything to make this easier?

I was just given a potted orchid for my birthday, but since I've never had one before I don't know how tocare for it. Can I please get so beginners tips, such as how much or how little water does it need, do you have to repot regularly, what do I do when it gets TOO long since it's about 2and a half feet up into the air out of the pot!! any good advice that would insure that the plant keeps alive and well will be very appreciated, since it is a gift from my husband and I would want it to last a long time. thank you.
