Twice now we have woken up to tiny bugs in our bed. They look like poppy seeds almost and they dont really move. When you look close it looks like a tick because its kind of flat then it has the little lets to the front of the body. There hasnt been any attached to myself, my husband or the dog either times. But its is disgusting to wake up in a bed full of bugs. They are not bed bugs and we wash our sheets every week. The dog must have ran into some nest of some sort. Anyone knwo what they could be? Iv tried looking up ticks and I cant find anything.

Sure sounds like bead bugs to me You said they look like
poppy seed. Do you mean there black also. Bead bugs are
a light beige to almost clear in color. Check in the seams
and folds around the mattress. Look for tinny spotting. check
out the new bug in the Chicago aria. They bite and it makes
a blister.

What you have are not a common form of the bed bug (lice), but they are in fact one type: there is a small group of related blood sucking bugs in the family Cimicidae including bat bugs and swallow bugs that can be confused with human bed bugs. It is important to identify the species of bed bug because due to their different habits, proper identification determines where to direct controls to be most effective. For example, bat bugs (Cimex pilosellus) look similar to human bed bugs but control efforts must involve elimination of bats from a structure to be effective. They resemble ticks a GREAT deal!
Female bedbugs can lay up to five eggs in a day and 500 during a lifetime. The eggs are visible to the naked eye measuring 1 mm in length (approx. 2 grains of salt) and are a milky-white tone in color. The eggs hatch in one to two weeks. The hatchlings begin feeding immediately. They pass through five molting stages before they reach maturity. They must feed once during each of these stages. At room temperature, it takes about 5 weeks for a bedbug to pass from hatching, through the stages, to maturity. They become reproductively active only at maturity.
Bed frames can be effectively rid of adult bedbugs and eggs by use of steam or, used with caution, by spraying rubbing alcohol on any visible bugs (although this is not a permanent treatment). Small steam cleaners are available and are very effective for this local treatment. A suspect mattress can be protected by wrapping it in a painter's disposable plastic dropcloth, neatly sealing shut all the seams with packing tape, and putting it on a protected bed after a final visual inspection. Bedding can be sanitized by a 120 °F (49 °C) laundry dryer. Once sanitized, bedding should not be allowed to drape to the floor. An effective way to quarantine a protected bed is to store sanitized sleeping clothes in the bed during the day, and bathing before entering the bed.

Yes, it sounds like you've got bedbugs & you need to act fast. Like head lice, bedbugs don't limit their invasions to people of any special race, class or creed. In fact, they have become a huge problem in New York City with some of the priciest hotels becoming infected.
Here's a link with more information http://manhattan.about.com/od/citylife1/a/bedbugsbites.htm
But get that exterminator in ASAP!

I'm willing to bet you have a bed bug infestation. bedbugs don't always bite but eat the dead skin cells you shed without knowing it.
