I hired a contractor to reconstruct my house. After he finished he threw all of the construction sand onto my front yard grass, covering all the junk he had left there such as glass, wood, etc. After I asked him why he would do such a thing, he said its no big deal, just add top soil to it and it will be fine. Isn't a contractor obligated to fix anything that he has damaged, and wasn't paid to fix it. Is there someone I can call so I can show them it proves as a health hazard?

It seems to have the stem and leaves of a spray carnation, and yet the petals are smooth edged and rounded. It is multi flowered per stem and each flower is full bloomed (my particular favorite is pale pink in color). Plus, it has a subtle sweet smell to it.

It's a pull/push type faucet. I accidently broke the plastic knob. I tried Wal-mart, but can't find a spare part. Does anyone know a place that I can buy it? Thanks.

My house was built in the 70's and my bathtub is one of those fiberglass one piece units. The worst thing is that it's peach in color and has hard water stains corroded on the bottom. I can't do the bathfitter deal because it's not two pieces. I was told that you would have to take the wall out in order to remove it but then someone else told me they could just cut it and take it out that way. I would just like to replace it with a basic white or ivory tub system with some shelving inside. Thanks to all who answer!

I have a few questions, please answer as many as you can:

1. How much should a damp proof course cost for the downstairs of a 2 bed terraced (2 rcptn rooms + kitchen), plus a chimney breast upstairs?

2. What is the BEST method? Chemical injection or DPC lining / sheet?

3. If walls are adjoining (9" brick, no cavity), can cost be shared with neighbours or will they need their side of the walls doing?

4. Do walls get replastered up to the ceiling or just to the line where it's installed?

5. Would a boiler need removing from the wall for DPC to be laid? It's within 1m from the floor.

6. Would it save money to have the floor relaid, other walls replastered and plugs sockets & radiators moving at the same time the DPC is laid?

THANK YOU FOR YOUR ANSWERS :)

Could it be the door was left slightly ajar in the humid weather we are having.

Would turning the unit off for a few hours solve the problem?

I always buy organic produce when possible. Someone told me receintly not to bother if it's from another country as it gets sprayed with chemicals anyways before it enters Canada. It makes sence, is this true? Thanks

My fiance's father has a cottage up north and has a basement in this self-built home. The business only has secure cement patio stones on top of levelled dirt as a floor, with carpet over top.

It's been like this for about 10 + years I believe.

It has a horrid smell to the basement and the only temporary relief is to place a dehumidifier in the basment until it fills.

What can I do for a quick fix? I have friends coming to stay in this cottage and it smells horribly in the basement!!

I have read may different stories on African Violets. I have one from 2 years ago and it fails to bloom. The leaves are there, seemingly healthy, but a lighter shade of green than when I first brought my plant home.

What can I do to make her bloom?!

My wall is regular violet/purple now, and i want to paint it regular green. Should I paint my wall white first before painting it green, or should i just paint with green right away.
