My house was built in the 70's and my bathtub is one of those fiberglass one piece units. The worst thing is that it's peach in color and has hard water stains corroded on the bottom. I can't do the bathfitter deal because it's not two pieces. I was told that you would have to take the wall out in order to remove it but then someone else told me they could just cut it and take it out that way. I would just like to replace it with a basic white or ivory tub system with some shelving inside. Thanks to all who answer!

I have a full surround fiberglass unit, not tile! So, resurfacing is not an option and even if it was I wouldn't do it since the tub is a horrid peach color!!

You can have this done. But almost nothing in the bathroom is cheap.

Have you considered having it resurfaced? They should be able to do the tile and the tub. You could check and see if this is something you could do yourself.

Do some more calling about the resurfacing costs in your area.

Good Luck.
