Well, you can always buy a cat!

Don't use mouse poison... the little sucker will eat it, and then die in some place where u can't get to him, and then will stink like hell and smell ur place up.

Go to the store and get some mouse traps. Then get a candy bar like Musketeers or something like that which has caramel in it (sticks to the trap real well and mice like candy). Set the traps per the directions, and catch the sucker. Then if it is Ewwie Ewwie to you, you can just throw mouse, trap, and all in the garbage....

Do you want to catch it, or kill it?

The unfortunate thing about mice is that they usually aren't solitary. They might be in the walls or under the rest of the cabinets as well. The main thing is to remove them and not to trap them (where they might die in the walls and cause other problems).

If you want to try yourself first before calling Pest Control, there are a number of methods available through home supply stores. Humane traps that will allow you to catch the rodents and move them to a secluded location (open fields nearby or further from your home) are preferred by some, but most will go for the cheaper mousetraps and D-con baits.

If you try to catch them to no avail, then you will need to call the Pest Control people to come in and professionally clear them out. Even with traps and bait, Pest Control is the only real way to make sure that you get them all as they have equipment to locate any nests that might be in your walls. Good Luck!

Not poison, they'll either die in the walls, or outside where the neighbor animals might get to them. The classic snap traps are the most effective, but hard on the squeamish (like me!). Below are some homemade humane traps.

Cats are effective, but they may also start hunting birds and such, not good!

In the meantime, check for and plug up any holes or cracks in your cabinets, walls, etc (stuff steel wool pads in first to discourage gnawing).

Check the outside, too, but that will be almost impossible to completely rodent proof.

Don't leave *any* food out, and put all your stored food in jars, cans, etc - anything to keep it away from the mice.

Good luck, I've done all the above and it is still an ongoing battle.
