I am wondering if you live in a humid part of the country and if you have had concrete poured in your crawlspace to deter dampness and mold? If so, how do you feel about it? Do you believe it substantially decreased the humidity levels under your house? Was it worth the financial investment? I have a french drain along my foundation and a moisture tarp barrier but I still have mold problems. Thanks for your feedback! :-)

I have berber and it's miserable, traffic stains every week. My dachshund is also a digger and has easily dug 2 holes in different areas. Although when the dogs shed you can barely see it in the carpet.

I also have a rug in the living room that attracts dog hair and is almost possible to clean up.

What is the best type to buy next time? Something thick? What color disguises traffic dirt and dog hair?

My family is moving across the country to Chicago and I spent one weekend there looking for houses. Our favorite house showed a few problems on inspection, and since we couldn't be there it is hard to determine the severity of those problems. Our big concern is the finding in the basement of:

Sag noted at main beam in basement.
Crushing is noted on main beam at bearing point of 4 steel posts.
Drop in structure noted on both upper living levels, toward center of house.
Recommend further review and corrections as needed by qualified contractors which may include carpenter and structural engineer.

As luck would have it, I happened to take a picture which captured the "crushing" at one of the 4 posts. You can view it at:

The house is 85 years old with the second story added at some point afterwards, so obviously the weight increased and they might not have added extra support. Any advice? Does it look/sound like a dealbreaker?

How long can a refrigerator stay unplugged before being moved? I have heard that the more you unplug a fridge, the more you risk damaging it. So what is the truth? What happens to a fridge if you unplug it and move it? How long do you have to wait before you plug it in again?

When do you know you have to find the stud to attach things to a wall? For example, if you wanted to attach a:

1) picture
2) shelf
3) mirror
4) towel hanger

In what cases do you have to find the stud in order to attach these?

They are pinkish, see-through with black eyes. They have specks on their backs. They hide in the day time and come out at night. They crawl on the walls of the carport and the outside brick of our house.

she didn't bother to remove the kleenex from my wife's pocket it seems, and all the black clothing have kleenex speckles all over them now that they are dry. How do I get the kleenex crap off my clothing, or should I sue the maid's company for bad judgement on her part? My whole wardrobe of black work shirts are ruined with this kleenex

I need help. I don't know what to do for my theme w/ white and purple. My bedding will be light purple with white pillows and sheets, and maybe a white throw blanket, then some all different purples accent pillows.

What else can i add to my room that is purple or white? like some candles or something, maybe? I want a lot more of light purple that dark because i want it to look fresh, clean and bright. But a hint of dark purple would be nice.

If you have any ideas, even crafty ideas would be so great!!! Thanks!
