*lilac or violet candles in chrome sticks

Well you can also throe in a hint of blue, like candles or just a simple picture. Green plants always makes a room pop also. You can also make your own pictures. Try them in black and white to give the room a classic look;) Maybe a pic of some flowers or just a family picture would work.

Everyone had great ideas on the basics of the room and once you get that down, you could check out Swell Smells if you want to throw in some candle items. They custom make all of their candles so if you give them a pic of the color you want they will match it. They also are very inexpensive so that is a plus. They are all natural too!

I think that a picture is worth a thousand words so here are some links to give you some ideas....

Consider posters on the walls, mirrors with purple frames (you can always paint them yourself), pictures of your friends in purple frames (again, paint works wonders), one or 2 bean bag chairs (one light purple, one dark), shelves that are of course, purple (IKEA has some great invisible purple shelves... they look as if they're floating in mid-air), candles, a collection of purple boxes to store all your stuff in, a purple laundry basket (they have them at WalMart), use the xmas fairy lights in purple (see the link above) and use them in a plant or wrapped around your headboard as lighting or stuck in a huge glass vase (one on each bedside table) as lights, and hey, while you're at it, consider a blacklight, which will give off a purple glow... a throw rug to step on when you hop out of bed, purple curtains or a purple and white valance... consider wallpaper in a funky purple and white pattern... or consider using a stencil that fits the decor of your room and paint some great stuff on your walls... And how about some giant oversize fake purple flowers in a great white floor vase... Some huge oversize square cushions you can throw out on the floor when your friends hang out in your room...
There are sooooooooooo many things you can do... You seem to have the right idea... have fun with it...!
