I need help building a large cement "trough" of sorts which will hold water for a very large papyrus plant that is currently taking over my pond. The trough will be approximately 6 feet long by 3 feet wide by about 3 feet tall. I have purchased cement and already have chicken wire for support. My question is what is the best way to get it to retain water without using a product which will be detrimental to my papyrus. Is this something I even need to worry about since I have plants that I water daily right next to the location this will go to and I can just top off what is missing every morning when I water. Any input is welcome and appreciated! Thanks!

We are removing our 20 year old cedar shake roof. Can we burn the shingles without harming the environment. I don't know what fire inhibitor (if any) these were treated with when the roof was built.

Ok here's the deal. I have been married almost 1 yr. We have a ton of stuff, and our apartment is very tiny. We use one room to store all of our things in for now. We are looking to buy a house in the next year. But in the other rooms....It is bad and I don't think i can get it clean. We both smoke and that is first on my list---to stop smoking in the house. That alone will prob help. But it just doesnt ever seem clean. I work 6+ days a week and rarely have the time. What are some tips for a small space to keep clean? Junk just keeps piling up. What should i do?

Please Please help.

My bathroom sink had a clog in it and the water was going down very slow. so i went and got liquid plumber (the foam and gel), and that cleared it right up. But then i look at my tub, and all the water that goes out from my sink is going into my tub from the tub drain. it is also bringing this nasty brown dirt from the pipes in with it. Ive tried everything. every time i use the bathroom sink, it goes right in to the tub. Its been like this for 3 days. And it will not go down at all. i tired drano and even plunging it with the plumber. what should i do?

My two dogs (and cat) eat this certain type of grass that grows in my yard. The stem grows very tall, and it has leaves that look like a blade of grass. They always graze on the leaves, and sometimes even throw up after. Why do they do this?

Over the summer my NIKE rubber sandals began to stink. Really BAD. Almost like sh*t. I do not have a foot odor problem, it is due to the summer sweating. What can I use to clean the stink out?

I live on the third floor of an appartment building. And we have thus far found 6 earwigs on our balconey. We have spread some 100% natural earwig killer around the edges of the balconey, but i want to know if there is anything else i can do to keep them away. I have a 4 month old baby and i am VERY afraid of bugs (im a wimp lol) I am most afraid of earwigs.

Does anyone have any natural home repelants that i may just have laying around my house that will keep earwigs away or kill them?

Thanks in advance.

When I turn on the hot tap of the bath mixer tap it runs initially (weak) for a few seconds then as soon as the water comes through hot, it stops coming through altogether. The cold tap of the mixer is fine as is the sink mixer in the same bathroom. I have already tested for an air block and this doesnt seem the case. Does anyone have any solutions as to what could be the problem?
Thanks

Right after completion of a home that was built, the customer moved furniture into it. There was a leaking pipe upstairs and it caused water damage through the ceiling to the bottom level of the home where it leaked onto a used, leather couch.
The next day, the contracter sent the plumber, sheet rockers, and painters out to make all of the repairs. Everything was done quickly and efficiently within the next 2 days.
However, there was water damage to the leather couch. The couch is used and has some dog scratches and worn places. After the water dried there was a light mark about the size of a large pan on the upper corner. The contractor volunteered to have it cleaned, which would cost about $500.00 including pick up and delivery, or give the customer the $500.00 cash outright to put towards the purchase of a new couch.
The customer feels that the contractor should pay for a brand new couch......WHAT DO YOU THINK?
