the clog in your sink just moved down past the tub blocking it off and with the tub being the low point the water is backing up.Try this block the opening on the lavy including the overflow block the tub overflow and use the plunger. If not it is snake time if you can get to the pipes in the basement look for where the lavy hooks into the tub and that is where the blockage will be you may have to cut the pipe to get at it if so the hardware store sells what is commonly called a fernco coupling a big rubber coupling with two metal bands. Slip the coupling on one end of the cut pipe after you have cleared the clog, fit the pipes back together and push the coupling over both pieces tighten the two bands with a 5/16 socket or nutdriver

Ok...well, there are a few basic plumbing things you need to understand about plumbing...Hot on the Left, Cold on the Right, Sh!t flows downhill.
So now you know your sink was blocked, and that was upstream from the tub....as when you cleard the block from the sink, now your tub is backing up.
So while you've cleared the block from your sink, you've managed to relocate it furher downstream.
While there is a trap "u-bend" on a tub, it is not easy to get to if at all.
One option is to checkout your local Tool Rental shop, and rent a "snake"..and buy some heavy duty leather work gloves.
A snake can be a bit tricky/dirty to operate.....so you may want to try and put a stopper in the sink...then use a sink plunger in the tub. A toilet plunger has the spout that sticks out at the bottom to match up with the toilet hole (terrible description), a sink plunger has a flat bottom and is typically red/orange on a wooden handle.
Anyway.....with water in the tub, covering the plunger head....use that to try and use the water to push the blockage downstream.....
if not...call a plumber....$45 per hour, plus $45 for the house visit.

The drain from the sink is blocked from the other way. You need a snake. If that doesn't work you will have to call a plumber who has a professional snake that works like a charm, but costs an arm and a leg.

Pour a considerable amount of vinegar down the drain, let it sit for a few minutes, then run hot water down the drain for a minute or so. Repeat if it's a really bad clog, but once aught to do it. Vinegar is amazing. Also, if that doesn't work, wait 24 hours and pour straight bleach down the drain. DO NOT do it right after you pour vinegar down the drain... when the two mix they form chlorine gas which can be extremely hazardous (or even deadly) when inhaled.

It sounds like you have moved the obstruction further down the pipework try a snake, if that does not work call a plumber.
