Why do dogs eat grass?

My two dogs (and cat) eat this certain type of grass that grows in my yard. The stem grows very tall, and it has leaves that look like a blade of grass. They always graze on the leaves, and sometimes even throw up after. Why do they do this?

some dogs will eat grass just for that reason, because they need to throw up, its usually a diet issue and if you change their food they will probably stop. Yes, puppies do consume grass. Usually in case your puppy is consuming grass, its belly is hurting so that you could wish to ensure your puppy hasnt eatenn something it shouldnt have, like rubbish or desk scraps.

they don't have enough roughage in their diet. make sure their food is good quality stuff. give them fruit and veggies for snacks instead of bones. (never grapes, oboviously)
