Most mossies, gnat and biting insects do not like garlic and vitamin B.

Take yeast tablets for your vitamin B or eat Marmite.

Take odourless garlic capsules daily.

Touch wood, I've been taking both the above for the past 3 years and have not been bitten once.

Ha! almost every one except the beer guy is right in part!
i have from experience found that Vitamin B- +B12 at mega doses offered the best protection.
I learned it by accident! I am deathly allergic to Iron for my blood! So I resorted to liquid B drops under my tong.
THEN...I started a diet with an herbal supplement called Relacore...Turns out one of the main ingredients is vitamin B+.
This summer, no decent mosquito will come near me.
Actually, if I sit on the deck with the lap top. They attach the lap top screen and don't even notice me!

Garlic is a good deterrent. i don't actually like eating garlic but it works just as well if you cut a garlic clove in half and rub it on exposed areas of skin. Its always worked fine for me, but the other night i was walking the dog late in the evening by the river and i didn't bother to put any garlic on...i now have 3 nasty bites and an arm that's swollen to twice its size so I'm never going out walking without being smothered in the stuff again!

Avon Skin So Soft Body Oil Spray (the blue one).

I read it as a "hot celebrity tip" in a magazine, I bought some for my mum (mozzies love her) and so far she hasn't been bitten.

Make yourself smell unnatractive - garlic, vitamin B, lemony body rubs all help.

Don't wear clothes washed in biological powder/liquid - you turn yourself into a beacon for insects.

Best places to be on a mozzie ridden night is next to a bonfire or next to the sea with no still water nearby.

Oooooooh I dont know about Florida buT in the UK you can get tubes of gel which you can smear on exposed body parts, its called'Jungle'. I have tried it where there are gnats and wasps and they flew around me but did'nt settle. Ask in a chemist which is best.

I was told to eat marmite, which i hate but my friend tried it after several years of being eaten alive and she was great so i gave it a go and hey presto no bites - guess the mosquito's don't like it either. good luck

Get rid of any standing water that you can. They also have bacteria donuts that can kill mosquito larvae. Wear light colored clothing, and start taking garlic pills.

I would suggest stop wearing perfumes, body lotions, hairspray...things like that. Always check for fragrance free items.
