Essentially I bought a patio set from soneone that is around 15 yo. It was taken car of quite well and no metal is bent but it is rusting underneath the table ledge and the umbrella hole. The black paint looks dull and sunbleached as well. I don't believe it's ever been refinished. I want to remove all the rust and repaint the entire thing. I want to know details in the steps required. I was told by many people to use Naval Jelly or a rust converter to remove the rust. That is easier then sanding because you can get into all the corners. I want to use a rustoleum black glass paint. Do I have to sand all the paint off to bare metal? I want to use a roller on the table should I use a foam roler? Is Spray the paint better? Also I want to do the chairs but how will I get the paint off all those little corners and rods? Should I use a stripper? I heard strippers are messy? Should I prime as well? What applicator should I use for the chairs considering how detailed they are?

I have a natural gas water heater. If we use hot water through the day, we have no problems. But if we do not use any hot water during the day, we can start the bath and the water will not be as hot or stay hot longer than it would if we had been using hot water during the day. It is not always consistant, but it does happen fairly often during the week since we are not home during the day. The tank is about 2 years old.

I do housework to live not live to do housework and yes, sometimes it does get left for a bit longer than I'd like but I work hard (sixty hours last week) and am on nightshift at the minute. I'm neither going to start hoovering at 8am when I get home nor clean the bathroom when I wake up at 6-7pm. I aim for 'better', I can achieve 'better'; I'd be constantly disappointed if I aimed for perfect. Given all this, would you consider me to be normal ... or a slob.

I bought this old roll top desk and when I bought it it didn't smell obvious to me. I sanded it, primed it and repainted it. its a great shabby chic desk but the smell of smoke now is terrible and I dont know how to fix the problem. It seems like cigar smoke. I was told vinegar will make the desk smell like a pickled desk and now I just have candles and laundry sheets in the drawers instead. Any suggestions would be of help. Thanks

The area from my driveway to the house is a muddy mess. It is a grassy area but the wet weather has turned it into a mud pit. I would like to try and put down some stepping stones but am afraid that they will just sink. Any ideas?

I want to divide my studio (approx 575 sq feet) into a one bedroom so that I can sleep at night without my pets keeping me up. I don't want to put up a permanent wall because most of the windows and the central heating/air conditioning unit would end up in the bedroom only. I need some ideas on what I can put up to make a "wall" of sorts. Some Ideas I've had or been given, attach bifold doors to stretch across the apartment, put up sliding doors so that it's only a partially cut off room, use screens or curtains, put up bookshelves (will be kind of hard to move). Any other ideas or suggestions?

Our lawn is more weeds than grass. What would be the best fertilizer to use this spring? And when is it best to apply it - when the weather is going to be dry for a few days, or when rain is in the forecast?

I bought and planted a little baby orange tree (Washington navel) about 2 years ago, and then neglected it. I don't know how it survived without being watered! It has gotten so dry in the past that all of its leaves have fallen off. It is about the same size as when I bought it 2 years ago (so sad). It does have leaves at least now, although sparse. I put citrus fertilizer on it, and have started watering it daily. Is there anything else I can do to help my sick little tree to grow up healthy and strong?
