I want to divide my studio (approx 575 sq feet) into a one bedroom so that I can sleep at night without my pets keeping me up. I don't want to put up a permanent wall because most of the windows and the central heating/air conditioning unit would end up in the bedroom only. I need some ideas on what I can put up to make a "wall" of sorts. Some Ideas I've had or been given, attach bifold doors to stretch across the apartment, put up sliding doors so that it's only a partially cut off room, use screens or curtains, put up bookshelves (will be kind of hard to move). Any other ideas or suggestions?

You can get bookshelves that are on rollers... low 3' type ones that you can then move about the studio when it isnt bedtime. or even an 'island' that you can use for eating at, serving at.... there are big rollers that you can get inexpensively at home stores to put under big objects that make them very easy to move.

since you only want partial blocking/temporary, it is kind of hard to imagine what to use without seeing the space... you could do a combo with the curtains.. they could pull completely to the side when you don't want them... and the bookshelves on rollers could be part of the 'wall' and curtains from the ceiling to the bookshelf tops..

I hope you find a solution!

Hey There!

I was just browsing around on Yahoo Answers and came across this question of yours.

IKEA has several room divider type items. There are many different styles that can suit what you are looking for. The website has the items if you do not live near a physical store.

I also wanted to mention that I’m an IKEA Regional Manager and was informed of a private website at my last regional managers meeting that ended up to be a promotion we’re doing.

This website is giving away several hundred $1,000 IKEA Giftcards for just putting in your zipcode. It’s a marketing campaign they are doing to see what areas of the country people are interested in IKEA!

You can’t go wrong… Just put in your zipcode and get a $1,000 IKEA Giftcard.

Heck, you could even get the FREE Giftcard and sell it on ebay and go buy stuff somewhere else with the money you just made!
