I bought a little plant last summer that had thick green leaves and little yellow blossoms about the size of a bb. It was a very hardy plant that grew like crazy in the shade. By the end of the summer it had spread all the way around the huge pot that I had it in and was hanging over the sides. Someone told me it was called hearts and flowers but I haven't found it anywhere online.

I have this rickety old dresser that I am restoring. Years of cracked veneer needs to be removed. I bought a paint scraper and that did get some. I have sanded to the point of exhaustion....and still, i can feel the veneer is still there. Is there a product that I can maybe paint on that will help the rest peel up? Or another type of scraping tool that I should try?

The ones with the rubber underneath. It doesn't say on the tag. Can you wash them in the washer and dryer? Or will it melt in the dryer?

My kids ripped a microbead pillow, and after we vacuumed for over an hour, there are still microbeads all over their room- and now all over the house. Is there a better and more thorough way to clean up?

I would like to have a terrarium and was wondering what to plant in it. I don't want cactus because I already have two large cactus gardens in the house now. I was considering African Violets. I purchased one today. It's about 12" tall and 10" round with a glass lid. Any other suggestions or tips would be greatly appreciated!!! Thank You! :)

A family member strongly believes that closing the heat registers of rooms/areas that aren't being used is the best way to save on gas bills in the winter. I can almost agree if the room that isn't used can be closed. But what about common areas like the kitchen/dining room/living room? Is it really efficient to close the register in the kitchen and open the one in the dining room only, just because we are in the dining room and not the kitchen? These areas do not have doors and cannot be closed off. Even the bathroom register is closed when "not being used", yet the door is left open. The furnace runs and I feel cold. Where is the heat going? Is this really energy efficient?

We are getting a home that has a fairly large slant in the ground which makes it not level enough to put a swing set on for our kids. My husband and I aren't sure how to level the ground safely to put a swing set on it.

Any ideas on how to do this so the swing set can sit on a level piece of land and how much this might cost?

I plan on putting a under the sink sump pump for a wet bar. How do I connect the discharge water from the pump to the above 3'' pipes. The pump will pump the discharge water to the ceiling in the basement. I have two options: 1) connect to a sewage line that is about 2 feet away from at the ceiling but the first fixture is a toilet. How do you connect the discharge water from the pump to the toilet sewage drain. Ist that a good idea?

2) I could run the discharge water to a sewage pipe that is about 15' away. That only has shower and sink water. If this is better, How should I connect to the waste pipe. Should I come from above and connect in somehow?

There's no way this is a mouse, the movements and noises are too loud...not to mention too fast.

Here's what we know. We have heard very little gnawing. What we mostly hear is scratching and scurrying noises. He never comes out into the house, otherwise our two cats would have him in less than ten seconds. (They have brought me many mice in the past, as well as chipmunks and moles!)

So how do we tell which one he is? Is one worse than the other? Will it ever go away? How do we get rid of either one of them if they won't come out of the wall?

Have a small narrow space in my yard that is backed by a privacy fence. Looking to put something in that space and someone recommended daylilies. I have some Oriental lilies already and while beautiful, once they finish blooming, they look awful. The stems start yellowing and all the petals fall off leaving just the ugly stamins. Are daylilies like that too? Would they be too big in a narrow space? It gets full sun. Thanks!
