We are looking to purchase a king size bed for our new house that we're moving into next month. I don't have access to the house or the room obviously so I was hoping I could get help here. Thanks!

The room planner here may help you visualize your room and furniture placement. Good luck!

A king bed is about 7' square. If you put the head on an 11' wall, you'll have only 2' on either side, but 6' at the foot. If you put it on a 13' wall, you'll have 3' on either side, and 4' at the foot. Not much room either way for bed tables, a dresser, and a highboy. I'd go for a queen bed, which is not as wide, but still provides plenty of room.

You can do it but you will not have much room for walking. Our king bed was in a room 12 x12 with a night stand, chester draws and a cedar chest. Like I said it will not leave much room and we dealt with it for 10 years. When we bought our next bed we chose a Queen size and like it much better. I would go Queen if I were you.

That is about the size of our room and our king size fits in there fine with lots of room to walk around it. I would suggest you do what we did we bought just the mattress and frame. We left the head board dressers etc until after we had the bed in to see whatelse would fit in without feeling crowded.

That will leave room for nothing else. Will you be able to open the closet? Get a queen.
