I plan on putting a under the sink sump pump for a wet bar. How do I connect the discharge water from the pump to the above 3'' pipes. The pump will pump the discharge water to the ceiling in the basement. I have two options: 1) connect to a sewage line that is about 2 feet away from at the ceiling but the first fixture is a toilet. How do you connect the discharge water from the pump to the toilet sewage drain. Ist that a good idea?

2) I could run the discharge water to a sewage pipe that is about 15' away. That only has shower and sink water. If this is better, How should I connect to the waste pipe. Should I come from above and connect in somehow?

well, that is a tough one... I would imagine that it would be okay to run it to the toilet line as long as it has a vent pipe right there or at least very close. I would also make sure that the wet bar line ties in above the toilet line(on top at higher elevation) to keep sewage from running down the wet bar line. you may want to attach it directly to the vent line so ANY vapors would run straight up the vent. however, you may have a problem with pressure from the sump pump sending vapors back up the toilet. it may be more effective and safe to run it above the sink and shower lines. if you are still not sure you should definitly consult an experienced plumber. oh yea, you would want a vent pipe right there to prevent any siphon action from the sump pump line. you could end up with water just being siphoned back down the sump pump line after the pump turns off. if the sump pump line is above the sewage line and a vent pipe is connected right on top of it, the system would have no choice than to have the pressure ballanced by the incoming air from the vent pipe.

In addition to the sump pump, buy some perforated drain pipe and bury it around the house, run the line to a storm drain or drain are downhill of your home. Your down spouts may be putting enough pressure on the water table to force the ground water in to your basement. Try to get some help from the surface water management council in your area, also the local agricultural service may have some information.

cut the 3" install a tee, & reduce it to 3/4" so you can get tho the size of the ( usually rubber ) hose, buy a metal fitting to screw into drain 3/4 & attach rubber hose....
i had to do this with a water softener... no drain!
