i need to know some disadvantages for platform framing?

To be perfectly honest about it, I am not aware of any disadvantages of platform framing. Starting at 16 years of age, I have now spent the best part of 39 years in the building business in one capacity or another. In my early twenties, I owned a framing business that I eventually parlayed into a home building business and I have a lot of experience with platform framing. I can think of a hundred advantages to the platform system, but I cannot think of one disadvantage. I have worked on older houses that were framed many years ago using the old baloon framing system, and there is simply no comparison. I suppose that is why western platform framing is the norm in the USA when it comes to house framing.

I did a quick search to see if there were any published articles concerning any disadvantages to platform framing. I came up empty. I am interested to see if anyone else has any ideas.
