I have a Vornado HEPA air filter. I finally got around to changing the carbon filter today and noticed there was a thick layer of grey dust on it. After shaking it out outside, it looks pretty much like a new one. Is there any invisible and/or chemical difference in a used carbon filter that would make it undesirable to reuse. or can one reuse a carbon filter after merely shaking the dust loose?

My car went in to be fixed with someone hit me from behind, it took 5 days, and when I went to pick it up, they had tidied the inside to such an extent that I was nearly in tears. They'd put all my bits and bobs, kids toys and anything else that wasn't old food, or rubbish, and packed it away neatly into little boxes...and the old food and rubbbish got thrown away. The seats were scrubbed, as were the floors and everything else...it had gone from being a war zone, to spotless!

Anyway, is there anywhere I can pay to get this done again? My car is back to being a war zone, and I don't want to have to have a crash to get it done again! What is it called to have it cleaned and tidied inside (more than a hoover, because there is rubbish everywhere!) and who would do it, and how much? Could I go back to the same garage do you think, and ask if they'd do it for me?

Is cedar too soft for flooring? Is that why I don't see it anywhere? I see old cedar fences being torn down and thrown away all the time, so I thought that maybe I could replane and cut it and glue it in. Then sand it all and stain it, then seal it. Will that work?

There is a guy giving away a house for free. He built a new one, and does not want to tear the other one down. It's an hour and a half away from where I live. I looked at it yesterday, and it's a nice house. We could really use it. However, the price I got from a home mover was 14,000 dollars. That price kind of defeats the purpose of a free house. I know it has to be split. I know the roof has to come off. I know that it has to be jacked up and supported. I know a guy with a semi truck. This may not even be legal? But I'm thinking maybe we can move it ourselves. I own a construction company... although it's true I know little about house moving. I'm not looking for the answers that most of you have, like, forget about it, or pay the 14,000, or all of the reasons this is a bad idea. What I want to know is, can any of you tell me a cheaper way to do this? Or can you tell me how? Do you have any ideas? I want to move it for a very low price. Please leave helpful suggestions. Thank you.

I have one cold radiator in the house, all the others are fine. The hot feed pipe into the rad is hot and the outlet pipe is warm.
I have bled the rad and it is fine
I have turned off the outlet pipe and kept the inlet pipe on and i have opened up the bleeder and water comes out so that means the input valve is fine ok, right?
Whats wrong with it? I reckon its one of the Locksheild valves causing the problem. There are no TRVs by the way

why or why not?

This stuff is expensive!!

I have a 36,000 square foot lawn and have to buy three bags I think at $40 each for the Scotts brand but there are cheaper brands for $28 dollars each , but I am afraid to use them?
What has been your experience? What brands do you recommend of the cheaper brands?
