keep the bottom of the plant in water, at least 3 inches...never cut the plant, if the leaves brown just pull them down and off(cutting is bad luck) where u pulled that one off another will grow in or around that area...if ur leaves r very light green then change location...they like in direct light...had mine for 4 years and they look great...I never actually changed the water...only refilled it
due to the fact I have a floor standing glass vase with river rocks in it(dumping it could crack the glass)

make sure the water level stays above the roots. thats it. very easy to take care of. you can also trim off any branches that grow off of the main stem. if you put these branches in water they will eventually sprout roots and grow into a new bamboo plant. don't worry about sun or temperature. they are the easiest plants!

Lucky bamboo lives in 2" of water. Trim the roots off once in awhile and change the water periodically.

Keep it in a lot of water (use gravel to help it stand up) and keep it out of direct sunlight.
