why or why not?

This stuff is expensive!!

I have a 36,000 square foot lawn and have to buy three bags I think at $40 each for the Scotts brand but there are cheaper brands for $28 dollars each , but I am afraid to use them?
What has been your experience? What brands do you recommend of the cheaper brands?

If you buy 40 lbs for $40 and it has 15% active ingredients you are paying $6.67 per pound of active ingredient. If you buy 40 lbs for $30 for 10% active ingredients, you are paying $7.50 per pound of active ingredient.

What I'm saying is it doesn’t really matter which brand you buy, just do the math on how much you are paying for each pound of “active ingredient”.

Use Scott's - I've used every other brand and it never worked- you will end up spending twice as much on store brands cause you have to use twice as much.

However I now have hired a lawn service to come spray - they come 4 times a year at 42.00 each time.(and I have a large yard) But by the time you buy weed killer, and fertilizer etc its cheaper. Get a lawn service to give you a free estimate.

Compare the ingredients and the required rate of application. It's any body's guess which is the better buy.
